RULES FOR ENTRANTS
- ALL CLASSES (except for Section E) ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE
- There are no entry fees
- Only one entry, per person, per class
- All entry forms, together with all photographic entries, must be completed and sent or handed to Daphne Creed, Springfield Stores, Hardington Moor by 12 noon, Wednesday 25th August 2010 at the latest
- In Sections A and B every exhibit to be grown in the exhibitor’s own garden
- Photographic entries may have been taken at any time but must not have previously been entered for this show. Max. size to be 7” x 5” (18cm x 13cm) unmounted, black and white or colour print
- In Section D entrants should indicate if any part of the entry is not their own work (e.g. a picture frame)
- In Section E (Junior classes) all work to have been done by the entrant at home or in school since August 2009. Age to be stated on both entry form and exhibit
- In Section F (Flower arranging) flowers may be home grown or purchased
- All entries except photographs to be staged at the Village Hall by the exhibitor from 8.45am to 10.30am on the day of the show. The hall will be cleared of exhibitors at 10.30am, ready for judging
- Prizes and trophies will be presented at 4pm
- No entries to be taken away before 4.30pm
- Any items not removed will be sold by auction, starting at 4.30pm approx.
- In the event of insufficient entries in any class, or exhibits of inadequate standard, the judges may withhold any or all of the prizes
- The judges’ decisions will be final
- Trophies held by previous winners to be returned to Daphne Creed, Springfield Stores, in good condition, two weeks prior to the show

Section A – Vegetables and Fruit – Judge: Mr D Bowman
- Noah’s Ark Collection – 5 pairs of different vegetables presented on tray max 24” (60cm) square
- Five potatoes (white)
- Five potatoes (coloured)
- Five onions - trimmed
- Five shallots – trimmed
- Five carrots – trimmed
- Five runner beans
- Five french beans
- Three globe beetroot – trimmed
- One table marrow - under 15” (38cm) in length
- Three courgettes – between 4”(10cm) & 6” (15cm) in length
- One squash (any variety)
- Five ripe tomatoes
- Ten cherry tomatoes
- A collection of three types of home grown fruits (not tomatoes)
- Three apples (name variety if known)
- A specimen single vegetable not included elsewhere in Section A
- This year’s worst failure in any one of Classes 2-17
- Heaviest marrow
- Three types of herbs – 3 stems of each in a container
Section B – Flowers and Plants - Judge: Mr A R Burnett
- One specimen rose in vase
- Two sprays of multi-flora roses in vase
- One most fragrant rose in vase
- Three cactus dahlias in vase
- Three decorative dahlias in vase
- Five stems of sweet peas in vase
- Three stems of penstemon in vase
- One specimen gladiolus in vase
- One specimen flower – any cultivar not included elsewhere – in vase
- A vase of mixed flowers (not annuals)
- A vase of mixed annuals grown from seed
- A vase of ornamental grasses
- Three stems of mixed foliage in vase
- A planted patio container

- A flowering fuchsia in pot*

Note Classes 35-39* - Pots must not exceed 8” (20cm) in internal diameter
Section C – Photography – Judge: Mr D Richards
Exhibits in these classes to be sent to Mrs D Creed, Springfield Stores, Hardington Moor by 12 noon Wed 25th August. Photographs may have been taken at any time, but must not have been previously entered. Maximum 7” x 5” (18cm x 13cm) unmounted, black & white or colour print.

- An arrangement using shades of one colour (max 60cm/24” overall)

Classes 74 – 87 are open to males and females of any age
