ACWW Meeting at Wincanton
Sue Phillips gave a report of the first United Nations International Day of Rural Women, held in Wincanton. It was hosted by the Somerset branch of ACWW, which works supporting rural women worldwide to help themselves. Through our pennies for friendship, Somerset has sent £12,500 to ACWW. Sue explained it had been an enlightening and interesting meeting at which she had learned much more about the work of ACWW and felt we should make more effort as a WI to support this charity. Our beach hut money box to collect donations will be on the hatch at coffee time to remind us!

Autumn Council Report
Fiona gave an amusing account of what proved to be a rather ineptly run Autumn Council Meeting at Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton. Numbers attending were well down on previous years and the speakers were not of the usual standard. Facilities and the provision of food and drink also left much to be desired. The upside was that Hardington & Pendomer WI won £25.00 in the 200 Club draw.
Any other Business
Marina Barnard reminded members that she and Liz Brown will be grateful to receive cakes for their cake stall at the Church Christmas Bazaar on 29th November.
The AGM then followed
