REPORT FOR APRIL - BIRTHDAY PARTY
Our April meeting was the occasion of our 67th birthday and 36 members and 7 guests enjoyed an Italian meal cooked and served by the committee, consisting of lasagne, salad and garlic bread, followed by a wonderful choice of puddings made by members. Italian wine was served and a lovely social evening followed with Italian music playing in the background. (Thanks to Julia Beckley and her sound system).
President, Fiona Chadwick, kept the business to a minimum. Birthday posies were presented to Fiona Chadwick, Jenny Dodd, Shirley Heal, Karen Dodge, Ann Egerton and Carol Vallis, and a card was presented to Joan Whiteman to mark the occasion of her Golden Wedding Anniversary.
On Monday the 14th April, Hardington hosted the Crewkerne Group Annual Quiz evening. Thirty members and guests attended and enjoyed a light hearted evening putting their brains to the test. Four committee members acted as quiz masters and served refreshments of tea and cake (this is the WI!). The winning team went home with pretty garden plants as prizes while the bottom team clutched their wooden spoons!
Our next meeting is on the 14th May and will be the Resolution meeting. New members and guests are always welcome.
