REPORT FOR APRIL
In April the members celebrated the 69th birthday of our WI by going out for a delicious two course meal at The Helyar Arms, East Coker.
The meal was preceded by a short business meeting chaired by President Elaine Gilmore. Birthday posies were presented to Ann Egerton, Carol Vallis, Fiona Chadwick, Jenny Dodd, Karen Dodge and Shirley Heal.
Members were reminded that Hardington and Pendomer WI were hosting the Group meeting in the Village Hall on Wednesday 19th May.
As it has been decided that the WI should again run a book stall at the Street Fayre in June, donations of books in good condition, particulary paper backs, would be very welcome.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 12th May at 7.45pm when the Resolution picked to go forward to this year’s AGM calling for “the mandatory clear labelling of food with true country of origin” will be discussed and there will also be a Bring and Buy in aid of ACWW (the Association of Country Women Worldwide). Guests are very welcome.
